Statement of intent

  How do you intend to use the four areas of the media theoretical framework to communicate meaning and meet the requirements of your chosen brief? My fictional band is called “Cobalt Flats” and are a small group who release upbeat, instrumental, 70’s funk style music. The song I am using for my music video is “Lonely Town” by “Vulfpeck”. The lyrics of this song are raising mental health issues and have links to depression in particular. This song will be released as a single by the group who are showing concern to the problem of mental health and depression. The music video I will create will be a narrative / performance mixture. The performance side of the video will simply be shots of the musicians in a home studio recording the song. The aesthetic I am going for can be described as saturated and lo-fi.  Massive Attack are a hip hop/electronic group from Bristol, England which emerged from the unique music and graffiti scene in the late 80's/ early 90's. "Unfinished sympathy" was their first ever single on a major record label.
