Vulfpeck are an American funk grouped formed in 2011 by Jack Stratton, Joe Dart, Theo Katzman and Woody Goss. The 4 band members attended the University of Michigan music school. They often feature live and in studio with partners such as Antwaun Stanley, Joey Dosik, and Cory Wong. All of which are essentially part of the band but not officially. I think their aesthetics suit them as a funk band as the genre is typically over compressed and low fidelity, which is the effect they were going for in their music videos, which are generally performance based, with footage straight from the studio when they recorded the song. I particularly like the aesthetic of the song named "Cory Wong", written by the band during a jam session in 2013. The music video for "Cory Wong" is interesting as it is a video of the studio performance (which is just a living room) with a screenplay over the top of it, scrolling and keeping up with the video.
